Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met H.E. Mr. Yamandu Orsi, President of Uruguay on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The two leaders discussed cooperation in trade and investment, IT, Pharma, Digital Public Infrastructure & UPI, and Defence. They also discussed expansion of the India-MERCOSUR PTA. PM thanked Uruguay for the solidarity extended to India in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
