Sus contribuciones al fortalecimiento de estos v\u00ednculos fueron reconocidas oficialmente por el Gobierno de Uruguay en 2004, cuando le fuera otorgada la Medalla de la Rep\u00fablica Oriental del Uruguay en el grado de \"Comandador\".
